Biking
The island of Krk has proven itself countless times as an ideal outdoor destination for all seasons. The mild Mediterranean climate, diverse vegetation and rich cultural and historical heritage are just some of the reasons why many outdoor lovers return to it.
Malinska, in the northwestern part of the island, is located in a wide bay with its twenty scattered surrounding villages, forming a historical entity called Dubasnica. Its most important natural wealth of this area is the specific beauty of the sea and Dubasnica forests.
Join us in discovering Dubasnica forests and Malinska hinterland on 2 wheels in the most beautiful part of the year when old oaks dress autumn cloak, rich olive trees release their juicy fruits, and numerous flocks of sheep on pastures greet you in their specific way.
This year we have prepared 2 bike tours - one for more advanced recreationists and one for families with children.

ROUTE DESCRIPTION
After gathering in the center of Malinska, we start with a slightly climb over Bogovici and Ljutic to Sveti Anton, getting to know the island's architecture. From Barusic, there is a little bit more demanding gravel climb to the church of St. Peter near Gabonjin. You can enjoy a wonderful view of Rijeka and the Gulf of Rijeka from here.
After a short break, we pass by the Glagolitic Park in Gabonjin, whose sixteen stone sculptures recall important moments from local and national history. From Rasopasno, we ride along an attractive forest path that used to connected the settlements of the northern part of the island. One of these settlements is Srsici, which has been abandoned for 40 years. From Srsici we descend to Lake Jezero - the largest natural freshwater habitat on the island of Krk. We continue by a smooth ride with a combination of macadam and asphalt road to Njivice, after which we return to the center of Malinska along the coastal path by the sea.
The route is intended for advanced cyclists who can ride aprox. 30 kilometers on hilly terrain.
